About Us
Volanz Aerospace Inc. is a non-profit (IRS 501c3) Maryland corporation formed in 1998 to provide space science and space-related high technology educational and research programs for researchers, educators and students of all ages. Educators, students, and researchers work together to expand our knowledge of space. We also collaborate with educational institutions, Government and industry to enhance the impact of space science and technology in our world.
Our programs utilize seminars, workshops, conferences, camp programs, instructional materials, and the Internet to bring space science materials directly to students and educators.
Using aerospace and related fields as a theme, our educational programs create an exciting learning environment that challenges students by providing them with unique educational opportunities. These programs enhance science literacy, and help provide our nation with a diverse technical workforce.
Beginning in July 2001, Volanz Aerospace Inc. began holding a highly successful America in Space Academy™ camp program at the Queen Anne School in Upper Marlboro, MD. These programs are designed to foster long-term interest in aerospace technology, communications, Information Technology, and related fields.
Other programs we offer include Teacher Education Seminars (K-12), In-school Programs, and Conferences. Our first National Conference, "Spaceflight America™ 2005", will be held in June 2005 (and is described in a separate article on this web site). In cooperation with the NASA Wallops Flight Facility, we also administer the National 2004-2005 Student Troposphere Sounding Rocket Program (which is also described further in a separate article on this web site).
